With St. Patrick's Day right around the corner, I wanted to share a few Irish patterns with you today - along with some Irish history. Of course, St Patrick is credited with using the shamrock (3-leaf clover) to explain the trinity (3 divine individuals living in one God) to Christians. Almost everyone knows the legend of the leprechaun who hides his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Lastly, the claddagh is a symbol of love (heart), friendship (two hands), and loyalty (crown). The expression associated with the giving of the claddagh ring was "With my hands I give you my heart, and crown it with my love".
