As we begin to prepare for our transition from summer to fall in about a month, the harvest moon comes to mind. As many of you know, I have one of those inquiring minds. So I've provided a tidbit of the intriquing information in the next paragraph that I found during my research on this subject.
The Harvest Moon - a.k.a. Wine Moon, Singing Moon, and Elk Call Moon - refers to the period of time nearest to the autumnal equinox when the moon is at or near its fullest stage. In some cultures, it is traditional for those whose birthdays fall on or near a harvest moon to provide a feast for the rest of the community. Just as interestingly, each full moon has been given a name for each month and coincides with Native American myth and folklore.
